The family behind the hive
At Colmeia Property, we’re all about helping internationals feel at home in Australia.
We know how hard it can be to settle into a new country, so we’ve created a co-living experience that’s welcoming, supportive and fun!
Our journey started with Gigi and Paulo, siblings who come from three generations of real estate experts. With experience in both Brazil and Australia, they saw an opportunity to make renting easier and more personal. These days, Paulo is busy running our family’s real estate business back in Brazil, but his vision still inspires everything we do here.
Gigi is at the helm of Colmeia Property. She’s a property lawyer and licensed real estate agent with over 16 years of experience in Brazil and 8 years of expertise in property management in Australia. She’s passionate about creating a sense of community and making sure everyone feels like they belong.
Laura, our youngest sibling, joined the team in our first year at the age of 25. She began her real estate journey at 18, and her years of experience bring fresh ideas and energy to Colmeia, helping shape it into the buzzing hive it is today.
Goals, mission and vision
What we set out to do, why we do it, and where the hive is headed.
Creating a place where our resident bees find safe, efficient, and welcoming shared accommodations. At our company, we strive to create the best possible hive experience for our resident bees. Just like bees, we believe that every member of our hive plays an important role in creating a thriving community.
We foster a strong sense of community among our resident bees, where they feel at home and enjoy a sense of belonging. We believe that by fostering a sense of community, we can enhance the hive experience for our residents and create a place where everyone feels welcome.
We believe that everyone deserves affordable, clean, and safe hive residency. We’re committed to providing our tenants with a comfortable and secure place to call home, where they can thrive and grow in a warm and welcoming community.
Mission
Our mission is to provide a safe, comfortable, and welcoming home away from home for professionals and students who have recently arrived in Melbourne.
We aim to create a sense of community among our residents and offer high-quality, well-decorated properties in prime locations. Our goal is to exceed expectations and provide exceptional customer service to all of our tenants.
Vision
Our vision is to be recognised as the leader in shared accommodation in Melbourne, offering a unique experience to our tenants. Our goal is to continue growing and expanding our presence to help more people find a safe and welcoming home in Melbourne, while maintaining our commitment to quality and excellent customer service.
Our name, “Colmeia” (meaning “hive”), represents us in many ways. Just like bees, we aim to provide an organised, safe, and clean environment for our tenants. We understand that every individual is important and has a vital role in our shared habitat. Bees work hard to collect pollen from flowers to produce honey and in doing so, they help the environment to thrive by pollinating flowers.
At Colmeia, we believe that every action is interconnected, and by making small gestures, we can create a positive cycle. We strive to create a community of tenants who work together to make a difference, not only in their living space but also in the world around us.
You sit and relax, sweet as honey.
“We’re not just about finding you a place to live—we’re about helping you build a home, make connections, and enjoy every step of your journey. Welcome to the hive!”
